This ros is shy at first, emitting subtle hints of strawberry, white peach, water lily and a faint aura of citrus. The palate, too, is quite muted, but evokes more tropical flavors than anticipated: papaya, guava, banana. Acidity provides a liveliness and freshness to the taste and allows for a clean, crisp even if short finish. Producer Information “Fleurs de Prairie” translates as “wildflowers,” celebrating the beautiful fields of wisteria, lavender, poppy, and sunflowers carpeting Provence. This wine is sourced from select Provenal vineyards that dot the coastal wind-swept hillsides of the region. The Mediterranean combination of sun, wind, mild water stress, and ocean influence provide ideal conditions for grapes to ripen to the perfect balance of flavor and freshness. Fleurs de Prairie is sourced from vines planted in clay limestone soil throughout some of the best winegrowing areas in Provence, Var, Bouches de Rhne and Alpes Maritime. The grapes are direct pressed to ensure a light, fresh style and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
