Gillardi Il Merlo

Introduction

The Merlo was born in 2004 to show the potential of the great French wines if cultivated on the Langhe hills. The Merlo is a soft and powerful wine, made with Merlot in purity and sharpened for 24 months in small barrels.

This wine has a red intense ruby color, that with the age extends to pomegranate. On the nose it develops aromas of red fruits, plum, cherries, currant, and blueberries. The taste is harmonious, persuasive, rich and juicy. The tannins are soft with balanced acidity. It is a soft, harmonious, pleasant wine, that pairs well with important first courses or roasts and braised meat.
