Olds College Brewery Barley Trail Local Lager – 20 Litre Keg

Introduction

Olds College Brewery is pleased to announce the launch of Barley Trail lager, the Colleges first traceable beer using blockchain technology and barley grown on the Olds College Smart Farm. The project, aptly named Field to Glass, was a collaborative effort between Decisive Farming, Grain Discovery, Red Shed Malting and the Olds College Smart Farm. Consumers can look forward to scanning the QR code found on every can to learn about the complete journey the ingredients took from the field into their glass.

The Olds College Brewery took home multiple awards at the 2021 Alberta Beer Awards, winning Silver in the American-Style Wheat Beer category with Hay City, as well as taking Bronze with Barley Trail in the All-Alberta Malt category. Students of the Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program are able to showcase their abilities by entering their beers into this annual competition.
