Sinfarosa Zinfandel Primitivo di Manduria 2018

Introduction

Agricola Felline’s Sinfarosa Zinfandel is a wine that expresses all of the characteristics of the typical Primitivo di Manduria. However, unlike the other wines made from the famed grape type grown in the north of Salento, this is one of its clones, namely the vine known in California as Zinfandel. This wine is made from grapes grown on a special type of soil known as black earth. This soil is alluvial in origin and is characterised by the erosion of more superficial rocks. It is made composed of organic material deposits, such as ancient forests.

This wine is ruby red in colour with violet reflections and has hints of ripe fruit, nearly jam, with obvious aromas of red and black fruits, followed by delicate spicy notes like black pepper on the nose. It has a rich and powerful flavour in the mouth, with firm tannins and a substantial body. The lingering aromatic taste is a result of the tannin emitted by the barrique.
